The Map

The map screen is the central way of monitoring the system.  It shows the trains moving in real time and shows the locks held.

The whole map is too difficult to see in one hit, so here's the bottom station section.

And here's an explainer:

  • The little red circles are sensors
  • The strange 4 letter codes are unique references for each track piece
  • The red arrow heads that appear on each piece denote the track's nominal direction.  Trains can go either way on a piece of track, but the arrow dictates which is considered forwards.  If the arrow is very thick red (see to the left) it means it's one way.  The mainlines are one way which keeps things orderly and prevents head-to-head deadlocks
  • The coloured track means it's locked.  When a train is moving it will lock several pieces ahead.
  • Points can be clicked on to manually change them, but this is very unusual - normally the points are moved automatically in response to the route plan and mission.
